Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is therapy for me?
I believe that everyone deserves to be heard without judgment and to focus on their needs and growth. Therapy can be enlightening, challenging and life-changing, and I encourage you to take that first step. I look forward to joining you on this journey.
  • What is teletherapy?
Teletherapy, also known as telehealth or telemedicine, is therapy delivered through virtual and secure live video conferencing. Teletherapy offers greater convenience and accessibility than in-person sessions, and many clients find the experience to be comparable. Remote sessions can ease barriers to traditional therapy such as busy schedules, childcare, transportation/parking, and inclement weather as you are able to engage in sessions from your own home or other private locations.
  • Is teletherapy effective?
Many studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of teletherapy. Most insurance policies cover teletherapy as they would an in-person session. • Are teletherapy sessions secure?
I exclusively use secure and HIPAA compliant virtual platforms for teletherapy. Just like in-person sessions, therapists are required to protect the confidentiality of their clients.
  • Are there other options for therapy if I do not want to be seen via teletherapy?
No, I only see clients via teletherapy. If you’re uncertain about teletherapy, reach out to discuss your options, try a test call, or receive outside referrals.
  • Do you accept insurance?
I am in-network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO, Aetna, and United Healthcare. For all other insurance providers, I am considered out-of-network, and you will be responsible for the full cost of the sessions. If you wish to use your benefits but I am not in-network with your insurance, I can provide the invoices you need to submit for reimbursement.
  • What is the cost per session?
For in-network insurance coverage, the cost per session (copays, coinsurance, deductible) is determined by your insurance policy. If you are not going through insurance, or if you have out-of-network insurance, the cost is $150 - $175 for a 50-minute session. I accept all major credit cards, checks, ACH bank transfers, Zelle, and health savings accounts.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment will result in a $50 fee that is not covered by insurance. The cancellation fee will be waived in the case of an emergency.
